Eddy De Vos (°1950, Schoten) borrows his imagery from the plethora of images which are being manipulated by the press in the most divergent and uncalled-for manner in this over-mediatised contemporary society. He does not only bestow a visual impact upon these images, but also adds several other layers of meaning and, at times, a relativising, ironic undertone. Man and all his particularities and ambiguity occupies a central place in this body of works which endears as much as its makes us wonder and as it desacralises.
