DOMAIN NAME ART (DN-Art)
Each work is composed of 2 parts :
one on the web, and the other in the
gallery.
The part on the web is the DOMAIN NAME reserved, and the part
in
the gallery is the logo painting, acrylic on canvas.
Date, technical and size of each logo painting :
2000, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 60 cm.
1976
In the 70's exotic times, Jonier Marin crosses the Amazonian
rain-forest,
and begins his art career with "Amazonia", a show presented
then in Sao
Paulo, New-York and in Paris at the Lara Vincy gallery...Then
follows the
metavisual years of the question-mark paintings and volumes.
This work has
been noted by Pierre Restany (ICC catalog, Anvers, 1979), Severo
Sarduy (Art
Press, 1983) and others. Also several shows took place in our
gallery in the
80's. In 1999, an entire room was reserved for his work in the
show "Vivre
Paris", at the Espace Electra, Paris.
2000
Back from Texas, Jonier Marin inquires into the power to name
all, that the
web has recently acquired, and suggests the domain name via the
web as a
marvelous material for artists. The domain name-DN- blows out
from the
sphere of the web, and becomes DN -art.
With DN-art as creative form, the work of art acquires a nex
status both
positioned on the Net as domain name reserved, checked out by
a provider,
and at the same time, installed on the wall of public spaces
as simple
"painting on canvas". The pieces presented are part
of the collection of DN,
set apart by J.M. since the last years. They will be available
on gallery
Lara Vincy's web site as well. "I must say, DN-art is not
net art, which has
already its emerging artists, its heroes" says the artist.
"DN-art" is
created, shaped and presented as a message of a new dimension,
for people of
a new century".
