The Art and History Trust Collection, one of the finest private holdings of the arts of the book from Iran and Mughal India, has come to the Sackler Gallery on long-term loan. Nearly 100 paintings, manuscripts, drawings and works of calligraphy from the collection reveal the spread and influence of Persian culture across the Islamic world from the 14 th to 19 th centuries. This major loan enhances the Freer and Sackler Galleries' combined resources as a preeminent center for the study of Islamic arts of the book. A 423-page, full-color book accompanies the exhibition.
