ELECTRONIC SUPER HIGHWAY: NAM JUNE PAIK IN THE 90S (Tentative)

February 14 - April 27, 1997

This 5110W wiil be a major installation of video sculptures by internationally know Korean artist Nam June Paik. Containing hundreds of television sets programmed to display Paik's video images, this exhibition features several new works that explore the theme of the
"electronic supe; highway, a term that Paik coined in 1974.

46TH ANNUAL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL JURIED EXHIBITION AND DUVAL ART TEACHERS JURIED EXHIBITION

Over 100 pieces created by Senior High School students and their teachers will be shown in these exhibitions. Showcased will be the young talent of students in the Duval County School System in the Senior High School show and you will also find out where the students leam such expertise when you view the Teachers Juried Exhibition. Featured will be works in many types of media including paint, watercolor, fiber, wood, photography, clay and mixed media.

JOE SEGAL

July 29 - September 21, 1997

This exhibition will highlight the work of this local sculptor who has a studio in St. Augustine. Segal explores splitting, charring, and buming wood, as well as the use of mixed media in his sculptures. He also researches the relationship and interaction of material in

sculpting while creating his pieces.



ALLISON WATSON

September 30 - November 23, 1997

Ms. Watson is a painter, animator and illustrator. Her two-dimensonal works focus on the beauty of the Florida landscape.



MILDRED THOMPSON

Thompson, a native of Jacksonville and currently living in Atlanta, started drawing at a very young age. This artist has a diverse array of skill in painting, sculpting, printmaking, photography, and composing music. The focus of this exhibition will be her most recent work which is beautiful, colorful, upbeat, large color field paintings inspired by new physics theories. In addition, other works will be displayed, demonstrating the relationship between the different media that this African-American artist works
