A series of etchings by Nono Reinhold The Dutch artist Nono Reinhold (b. 1929) has been making colour etchings for many years. From 13 November there will be a modest presentation in the temporary museum premises in the Vonderweg featuring a series of etchings made between 1995 and 1998 of the steps of the building where for years she rented a small work space: 19 Rue Hautefeuille, Paris. The images in these colourful prints are made abstract by the vantage point chosen and show a rhythmic play of lines. Often we look down from above, in a bird's-eye view, which gives the image depth. The use of colour is abstract in another way: such intense colours stem from the mind of the artist rather than from the subject. The Stichting October is to produce a publication on this series of etchings with texts by Ernst van Alphen, Bert Schierbeek and Jean-Clarence Lambert. |
